This unit introduces both practical and theoretical approaches to understanding and creating performance using the field of Performance Studies from the 1960s to the present day. Students will incorporate practical processes and theoretical material to gain a critical understanding of contemporary performance and to apply to the rehearsals and presentation of a performance work. Attending performances at the Hayman Theatre will be central to the experience of this unit. -- Course Website
